I currently teach Life Cycles & Ethical Dilemmas/ Evaded Issues to 12th grade students. Please see showcased projects and rubrics available below.
Bar & BAT Mitzvah Infographics
In this project, students were asked to create infographics about the special experiences and mitzvot that are applicable to either individuals who become Bar Mitzvah (if male) or Bat Mitzvah (if female). Using Piktochart, Zoey Shulman '16 created a masterful infographic on coming of age as a female. Please click here to view her work.
Healthy RElationships, Love & ABUSE Promotional Video
In this project, students were asked to create short promotional videos detailing what we had learned about healthy relationships. Students needed to provide a definition of love and link in Jewish sources around these topics. Additionally, they needed to research and link in Jewish agencies that support individuals experiencing abuse or domestic violence. Mollie Jakofsky '16 put together a moving video which you can watch (via Facebook) at this link or embedded below. As of Nov 3, 2016, it's already been viewed 734 times.
Marriage WEbsite PROJECT
In this project, students were asked to create a wedding website that would explain the customs, traditions and rituals of a Jewish (Orthodox) wedding to secular or non-observant guests. Students Molly Singer '16 & Annie Silverstein '16 put together an incredible site (using TheKnot.com) that celebrated the now-Jewish wedding of television show "Once Upon a Time" characters Emma Swan & Killian. Please see some photos of the site below and click here to access the site. Please click here to view instructions and rubric.
